The Indigenous church gathers on Treaty 6 Territory in Edmonton, AB, on July 28 – 30, for the 2023 National Indigenous Spiritual Gathering. The theme is “With Strong Voices.”
~ For those who are travelling:
Creator,
With the beauty of the summer resting gently on our shoulders, we pray for the safe travels of our people to this important gathering. We all belong to Creation and therefore we all belong to each other. We belong, we, our people. Together we travel.
Creator,
As we journey across Canada from some of the most remote parts of our amazing country, we ask that as we journey we give thanks. Thanks for all the wonderful people we meet on our travels, thanks for the people who have supported us along the way, and thanks for the people who promise to care and pray for us from the time we leave until we return home.
Creator,
As we meet, we pray that we remember our ancestors and how they taught us to listen and to believe, to hear what one another’s hearts are saying, to speak when the Spirit invites us to share our holy words, and to sit silent with those who are weeping.
Creator,
As we dance, sing, pray and gather, may the Spirit blow incredible life, love and peace into the time we share together.
maarsii, hiy hiy, we give thanks
