We are in a sticky situation and we need your help.
Leadership is important. Having a team of leaders to engage in visioning, to set boundaries, to listen to members and discern what best serves them, to be the contact, guide and support during times of stress is integral to the strength and viability of any organization. Northern Spirit Regional Council is no exception to this.
But… we are missing a key group of leaders and this could potentially stop the work of our council.
Our guiding and policy group is our Executive. All but one of our members have now completed multiple terms and, according to the limits we set as a Region, they are required to stand down. We cannot do many of the tasks we need to do as a Region without an Executive.
We are not helped in finding recruits by the fact that our Nominating Committee is also searching for a chair.
I know that there are people in our Region who have the skills and knowledge who could share with us. We need folk who can look at the big picture of where we are going and see the important steps to get us there. We need folk who can encourage, who are willing to risk a bit, who can make tough decisions when it’s necessary – doing so with compassion and care.
Did you know that you don’t need to be a Minister to be on the Executive? In fact, Lay Leaders are welcome and necessary to give us a wide range of wisdom to share. Terms are for 2 years, with an additional 2 years possible.
We need 5 members, a Chairperson and a Chairperson Elect. That’s a big list to fill.
Do you have the skills and knowledge we need? Will you share them?
Do you know of someone else who does?
Would you ask them to consider this opportunity to serve?
Hebrews 10: 24-25a:
Let us always think how we can stimulate each other to love and good works. Don’t stay away from the meetings of the community, as some do, but encourage one another.
Please be in contact with Chloe to let us know if you will let your name stand to lead our Region forward, or fill out our Expression of Interest and Nominations Form.
With hope…
Helen
