Hello Friends,
Excitement is in the air around the upcoming Annual Meeting to be held at Camrose United Church in Camrose May 4-7.
Your planning committee is continuing to make decisions about how we will gather, what are the most important things we must do and what are the most important things we want to do.
We are trying to provide opportunities for folk to gather, to visit, to renew acquaintances and to re-engage and energize our Region connections and identity.
And, let’s be honest, we are also hoping that our representatives and clergy will look at where spaces are that they can volunteer their time and talents to enrich our Region and all of its members.
Please continue to check in with on the Region’s website as we add more information: https://northernspiritrc.ca/news/regional-council-meeting/
I have received a few questions that we have answers for—and some that we don’t yet 😊
It is important to note that some answers will only become clear when we know how many representatives, youth and children are coming.
Registration forms will be coming up on the website soon. Your Regional Representatives and Clergy should register as soon as possible. There is a registration cost and a registration deadline.
Travel Costs will be partially covered for many people but not all. We will pay $0.30 /km for travel over 500 km. ($0.35 if you are car pooling – 2+registrants). Pastoral Charges are welcome to and encouraged to top up expenses for their Clergy and Representatives.
Accommodations: we have booked blocks of rooms in local hotels. This information will be available after you have registered. You are responsible for the cost of your accommodations. We are not currently planning on offering billets.
Youth and Children programs: there will be programs for youth and children. Children’s programming/childcare will be for children less than 12 years of age. Youth programs are for 12+. Children will rejoin parents for meals, and it is unlikely that child care will be provided in the evenings.
Online attendance? We know that while we would all love to attend in person, that may not be a reality for many. It is our intention to provide live streaming on Thursday afternoon, Friday through the day and for Sunday worship. Some recordings of Saturday workshops may also be available after the event.
Worship: We will be celebrating new ministries in our worship service. It is our intent to provide a service for Communities of Faith to use that Sunday if they can’t join in the livestreaming. If you would like to help develop that service, please be in contact with Helen (helen.reed9266@gmail.com)
