SUMMARY:Spill The T: Readings from the 2SLGBTQIA Human Library
DESCRIPTION:THE LIBRARY IS OPEN!\nIn partnership with Kirk Centre\, this 3-part pilot project learning series is coming to Robertson-Wesley spring 2026!\nEach month in March\, April and May\, a different subject matter expert will present on a given topic within the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience that they have intimate knowledge of. After the initial presentation there will be ample time for the audience to ask questions of the speaker on that subject\, followed by table conversations over refreshments. \nMaybe there are things you don’t feel comfortable asking just a random person or loved one? Do you have an awkward or sensitive question itching to be answered? All are encouraged. Come experience a safe place for genuine curiosity and learning\, where discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. You do not need to identify as a queer person\, or even know anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA\, to want to improve your allyship and awareness of the community. This is family friendly and all ages are welcome to participate. \nThis event is intended to be as accessible as possible\, including ASL interpretation for the presentation and Q&A portions. RWUC has accessible washrooms\, a lift and ramps throughout building. If you or another attendee need additional accommodations please reach out so the organizers can be prepared. \nOfficial Topics and Presenters are TBD at time of posting\, visit rwuc.org for the latest updated poster\nAny further questions or concerns\, email Peter p.graham@rwuc.org \nPossible subjects to be explored (one per event):\nTwo Spirit Perspectives\nAsexuality\, intersex understanding\nQueer Identity in Different Cultures\nHow to Be an Ally\nWorkplace Policies & Inclusion\nSports and 2SLGBTQIA+ Participation\nPregnancy and Queer Families\nElderhood\, Aging as a Queer Person

SUMMARY:Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner
DESCRIPTION:In preparation for the season of Lent\, you are invited to engage in an age-old tradition of having a pancake dinner. The word shrove is derived from shrive\, referring to the practice of confession of sins as a preparation for the lent. Lent is also the season when people used to fast. These days during Lent we are invited to discern what it is we need to fast on – such as chocolate\, and indulgences in shopping. Please consider starting the season off by coming to the church for pancakes and fun! \nOn February 17th\, doors open at 5 PM and we will finish serving pancakes at 7PM. It will be a freewill offering. \nEveryone is welcome\, bring your family and friends.

SUMMARY:Blue Christmas
DESCRIPTION:Christmas is a holy time that is not always happy. It brings up so many memories that heighten our feelings of grief or sadness\, pain or loneliness. This is a service of quiet reflection\, remembrance and peace. We hope that this service will bring a sense of peace in this sacred season with quiet music\, scripture\, silence and candle light. Everyone is welcome.
