SUMMARY:2026 Edmonton Outdoor Way of the Cross
DESCRIPTION:The 46th annual Outdoor Way of the Cross invites people to think about the relevance and importance of the Gospel message in our world today. This year’s theme\, “Whatsoever You Do: Seeing\, Naming and Protecting the Rights of People as Part of Creation\,” is based on Matthew 25:40 “Truly I tell you\, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine\, you did for me.” \nThe walk will take place along the streets of Edmonton’s inner city. It will include five stations\, and each station will offer a reflection on an aspect of the overall theme that highlights both a challenge and a source of hope\, woven together with music. \nPeople of all faith traditions are welcome to attend. The 1.5-kilometre walk is reasonable for most ages and ability levels. Free street parking is available near the start location at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples (10821 96 Street). A light lunch (soup\, bannock\, coffee and tea) will be provided at Sacred Heart Church after the final station. Donations of non-perishable food items for local food banks are also welcome and can be dropped off at the start of the walk.

DESCRIPTION:THE LIBRARY IS OPEN!\nIn partnership with Kirk Centre\, this 3-part pilot project learning series is coming to Robertson-Wesley spring 2026!\nEach month in March\, April and May\, a different subject matter expert will present on a given topic within the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience that they have intimate knowledge of. After the initial presentation there will be ample time for the audience to ask questions of the speaker on that subject\, followed by table conversations over refreshments. \nMaybe there are things you don’t feel comfortable asking just a random person or loved one? Do you have an awkward or sensitive question itching to be answered? All are encouraged. Come experience a safe place for genuine curiosity and learning\, where discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. You do not need to identify as a queer person\, or even know anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA\, to want to improve your allyship and awareness of the community. This is family friendly and all ages are welcome to participate. \nThis event is intended to be as accessible as possible\, including ASL interpretation for the presentation and Q&A portions. The weekend of April 25 and 26\, all of Northern Spirit is invited to join us in Grande Prairie for a time of connection\, learning\, and worship. \nWhere: Grande Prairie\, AB\, St. Paul’s United Church\, 10206 100 Ave.\, T8V 0V6 (Google Maps link) \nWhen: Saturday\, April 25\, and Sunday\, April 26\, 2026 \nWhat: Saturday will include workshops\, a lunch\, and time to gather together. Join us Sunday morning for worship\, and then a time for fellowship and coffee. \nWho: All of Northern Spirit are welcome to attend. Understanding the geographical realities of our wide Region\, we are planning future connection events in other locations that may be closer to you. \n*Please note that this is not an Annual Meeting. Our 2026 Annual Meeting will be held online\, November 2026; but there are still opportunities to gather in person! Future connection events are also in planning\, for those not neighbouring Grande Prairie or those who can’t attend in April. He studied trumpet and jazz performance at MacEwan in Edmonton and Morehead State University in Kentucky; has performed with many great musicians\, including Diana Krall\, Hilario Durán\, and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra; and has worked as a Bandmaster for Princess Cruises and as Musical Director for Cunard’s Queen Mary 2.

Donations will be accepted to cover the musician’s fees and other expenses. \nJacob Do is a saxophonist\, composer\, and educator whose resonant and nuanced sound lends itself to emotional storytelling through improvisation. Jacob elevates and serves the music through his authentic\, precise\, and ambitious approach as an improviser\, connecting to audiences through the shared human experience. As an artist\, he has crafted original compositions and arrangements unified by soundscapes of intensity and vulnerability; all while being immensely steeped in the rich tradition of Black American Music. Jacob completed his degree in Jazz Performance at McGill University in 2021.

DESCRIPTION:THE LIBRARY IS OPEN!\nIn partnership with Kirk Centre\, this 3-part pilot project learning series is coming to Robertson-Wesley spring 2026!\nEach month in March\, April and May\, a different subject matter expert will present on a given topic within the 2SLGBTQIA+ experience that they have intimate knowledge of. After the initial presentation there will be ample time for the audience to ask questions of the speaker on that subject\, followed by table conversations over refreshments. \nMaybe there are things you don’t feel comfortable asking just a random person or loved one? Do you have an awkward or sensitive question itching to be answered? All are encouraged. Come experience a safe place for genuine curiosity and learning\, where discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated. You do not need to identify as a queer person\, or even know anyone who identifies as 2SLGBTQIA\, to want to improve your allyship and awareness of the community.
