DESCRIPTION:CCS Friday: Why First Advent Requires a Second Advent:\nNovember 18th at 12 pm (Central Time).  \n“Then two will be in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding meal together; one will be taken and one will be left.”  – Matthew 24:40-41 \nJoin us for an online discussion of Matthew 24 (lectionary reading for the first Sunday of Advent). How do we interpret this? Is this “rapture” or is it a renewal of creation? Our special guest will be Dan Epp-Tiessen\, biblical scholar and semi-retired professor at the Canadian Mennonite University. \nCCS Fridays are online conversations to help us all to respond faithfully to emerging issues in local contexts. These workshops are hosted by the Centre for Christian Studies and open to anyone who might be interested. Each session will be in the form of a Zoom workshop with a presentation that will be recorded for future viewing\, plus opportunities to engage with the ideas in small groups. \nThe event is free but you must register by clicking here.
